It is well worthwhile taking a walk around Maastricht, which is thought to be one of the oldest cities in The Netherlands.
Be sure to see Helpoort, a beautiful medieval gate and old city entrance, the only one still remaining in the Netherlands. Very well preserved remains of Roman and medieval times in western Europe.
